The undisputed Queen of contemporary Bollywood, a bad ass woman, a savage lady who doesn’t mince words when she has to take the world to book and one of the finest actors in tinsel town, Kangana Ranaut is definitely a lady with a might to be reckoned. Much like her latest depiction of the Rani of Jhansi in Manikarnika, Kangana is every inch the fearless, strong willed woman who speaks her mind every time she is goaded into believing that she is not worth all of her name and fame.
From making her debut with Gangster, Kangana has time and again manifested her splendid histrionic talent as she has seamlessly played the roles of a badass rebel as well as a docile woman with equal penchant. Her essaying of each of the characters that has been entrusted to her seems such a real depiction of power and reality that it becomes hard to believe that these are characters that are some part of fiction, or history.
Kangana’s love- hate relationship with Bollywood
However, in spite of the tremendous talent she encompasses, Kangana is often derided in some part of Bollywood. Be it her not giving a damn and not taking any shit either attitude, her vocal decrial of the plague of nepotism infecting the Hindi film industry, her rise from the time of struggle to the heydays of fame and adulation, Kangana isn’t a mere glamour heroine of Bollywood. She indeed is a true star, a worthy artiste and an even worthier person.
As such, Miss Ranaut’s equation with a lot of people in the industry cannot be termed as cordial. A clash of films, a greater share of successful performances, a no nonsense voice that knows how to be heard-Kangana’s many attributes also make her one of the most ‘contended’ stars of Bollywood.
Unsurprisingly therefore, when the 31 year old actress recently blurted out in an interview that there would be pretty much a lot of people in Bollywood who would be happy with her failure, we don’t find it difficult to wonder why.
So why would we think that Kangana’s claims of people trying to gain joy from her flops can very might be a reality? And who are these people who would be sadistic enough to draw pleasure from a co- actor’s failure?
Hrithik Roshan & Rakesh Roshan
Firstly and most obviously, the one name that echoes throughout is Hrithik Roshan. The Bollywood hunk’s long standing nasty spat with his Krrish 3 co star has been a huge embarrassment to both of them. Primarily, the alleged romantic relationship between the two has been a major dent to both of their images, particularly Hritihk’s. Kangana had also accused the junior Roshan of not being able to speak upto himself after his dad Rakesh Roshan refuted all allegations directed toward his son by Kangana.
However, even prior to the love saga, things had already soured between Kangana and Kites director Rakesh Roshan. Miss Ranaut was unhappy that her role in the roshan- Barbara Morico- starrer Kites was edited, but they went on to work together in the blockbuster Krrish 3. Things went further downhill post Krrish ever since the relationship rumours surfaced. Undoubtedly therefore, the Roshans would be a happy lot if Kangana delivers a flop anytime soon.
Adhayayan Suman and Shekhar Suman
However the Roshans aren’t the only people who would be smirking at the Tanu weds Manu actor’s failure, when she faces any. Adhayayan Suman and his father Shekhar Suman’s ‘rivalry’ with the younger Suman’s ex is an open secret of Bollywood. While Kangana and Adhayayan dated for some time, they broke off after Adhayayan failed to make it big in Bollywood. Interestingly, it was Kangana who was blamed by both father and son for their debacle in the Hindi film industry.

In fact, not just that, there have been instances when Shekhar Suman have been cryptically overjoyed when Kangana’s films have failed to make it big at the box office. No wonder the Sumans would be another happy lot if they see Queen Kangana faltering with her films.
And how can we forget Karan Johar? The ‘flag bearer of nepotism’ in Bollywood, Johar is known for his preference to launch star kids in an industry that he considers his own. And the irony is that Kangana chose to deride this plague in Johar’s own chat show “Koffee with Karan”. The battle went long, and with verbal attacks and counter attacks coursing over time, this became one of the most tainted episodes of Bollywood. Both Kangana and Karan had retaliated several times over on the issue and undoubtedly a feud was fuelled. Though the matter gradually died down, Johar would be basking in ecstasy should Kangana fail.
Then of course there’s Aditya Pancholi. Though Pancholi had been the entry pass for Kangana into Bollywood, he being an abusive, vilified boyfriend to a girl who was young enough to be his child wreaked havoc in the actress’ life. Kangana definitely emerged from this stronger and has been vocal about the toxic relationship with a married Pancholi. Pancholi’s image has been seriously dented by his romance with Miss Ranaut. So there’s no wonder he would be waiting for Kangana to falter.
Vikas Bahl, Hansal Mehta and Apurva Asrani
Kangana’s fall out with Queen director Vikas Bahl might also be a insinuation for the film maker to be a person content with the actress’ failure. Similarly, Simran director Hansal Mehta’s dynamically changing equation might provide some scope for joy to the man on Kangana’s failure. Also on the same squad would be Simran script- story writer Apurva Asrani who had accused Kangana of stealing credits. Chances are therefore he’s another man who would be celebrating Miss Ranaut’s failure.
Recent rumours of Sonu Sood’s issues with Kangana also surfaced during the shoot of Manikarnika. Apparently, Sonu was also a crucial part of the film and had also shot most of his scenes. However, he chose to walk out of the movie because he resented Kangana’s interference in the script. Obviously then, if the film does not fare well Sonu will definitely be having a chuckle.
Kamaal R Khan
Then there’s that one ‘star’ who is despised by all, yet never fails to troll those with mightier stature. Kamaal R Khan also had a long standing row with Kangana Ranaut, abusing her and her sister Rangoli in a series of tweets. He will also be one of those who would be having an inconsequential last laugh should Kangana meet with failure.

That apart, competition and rivalry among top Bollywood stars isn’t any hush hush matter. Over the years, Kangana has emerged to be among the A listers of Bollywood. With her repertoire of acting skills, Kangana has proven to be the reigning Queen of tinsel town. Forged ‘enemity’ with other Bollywood divas like Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor might give these stars ample laughs on Kangana’s failure.
