Dharmesh Yelande is an Indian dancer and actor who shot to limelight with his significant dancing prowess. Starting off as a dancer and now an established choreographer, Dharmesh has come a long way by dint of his hard work and talent and is now one of the most bankable stars in the dance circuit in the country.

DHARMESH YELANDE BIO

Born on October 31, 1983 to a Maharashtrian family at Baroda in Gujarat, Dharmesh completed his schooling from Baroda High School. Growing up with two brothers who have forever supported Dharmesh in his pursuit of dance, the dancing star is very close to his family. His chase for his dreams landed him up in Mumbai and there has been no looking back for him after that.

DHARMESH YELANDE CAREER

It had not been a smooth sailing for Dharmesh Yelande as far as his career is concerned. Born to an economically not affluent family, Dharmesh had to face financial difficulties early on in life. However, that did not deter him from pursuing the one true love of his life- dancing. Even when the family was short of resources and means, Dharmesh had their full support and was always encouraged to hone his talent.

In fact, Dharmesh embarked on the dancing trail during his childhood days. Winning his first dance competition at the age of eleven, Dharmesh went on to participate in quite a few state level competitions. Dharmesh had his mind and heart set on dancing and he left no stone unturned to realise his dream right from a tender age.

Though Yelande is most notable for his stint in Dance India Dance as a participant and later on as a mentor, the reality show was not his first stint on television. Prior to DID, he had been the runners up of another reality show, Doordarshan’s Airtel Crazzy Kiya Re in 2007. Thereafter, Dharmesh earned considerable fame as the winner of popular dance show Boogie Woogie in 2008 before participating in DID.

One of the most loved contestants in India’s greatest dance reality show DID, Dharmesh’s popularity stemmed not only for his superb dance moves and amazing flexibility but also from his strong, off beat personality. With his meticulous execution and relentless dancing skills, Dharmesh ultimately went on to claim the runner’s up trophy in the show in the 2009-10 season.

CHOREOGRAPHY

Parallely to his dancing career, Dharmesh also took up the challenge of choreographing young talents. Beginning from the 2010 season of DID Li’l Masters, the terrific choreographer went on to mentor participants in a host of shows and competitions. 2010 proved to be the breakthrough year for Dharmesh Yelande as apart from cementing his reputation as a dancer par excellence, he also assisted Farah Khan in choreographing the title song in Akshay Kumar’s hit film Tees Maar Khan.

After showing off his terrific moves as participant and mentor in quite a few shows, Dharmesh Yelande also graced the judges’ chair in a number of other shows. Starting off from a Marathi reality platform to Star Plus’ popular show Dance Plus with idol Remo D’Souza, Dharmesh has come a long way in the showbiz arena.

Apart from his tremendous reservoir of skill and dexterity in dancing, Dharmesh has also proved his mettle in the acting stage. Making his debut with the 2013 dance based film Anybody Can Dance (ABCD), Dharmesh’s filmography till now has been pretty impressive. As part of a dance group struggling to make it matter against all odds, ABCD can be considered as somewhat of an insight into the dancer’s own sufferings.

With the sequel to ABCD shaping up as the 2015 film ABCD 2, Dharmesh Yelande further cemented his place in Bollywood. He also starred in the 2016 Riteish Deshmukh film Banjo, and is now preparing for Nawabzaade with Punit Pathak and Raghav Juyal.

DHRAMESH YELANDE INSPIRATION

Dharmesh is himself a prolific dancer, and excels in freestyling, hip hop and break dancing. However, his versatility as a dancer means that he can groove into other genres just as well. However, this isn’t surprising given that Dharmesh considers Remo D’Souza and Prabhudeva his idols. He is particularly enticed by the magical dance moves of Remo, and has the highest regard for him.

DHARMESH YELANDE PERSONAL LIFE

The 34 year old Dharmesh Yelande has a huge fan following. With his suave charm and solid personality, the dancing star has a huge female fan base as well. But Dharmesh’s heart has been set on one German beauty, Breshna Khan and the couple have reportedly been dating for five years now. Khan, the famous Dubsmash queen who received overnight fame, courtesy her lip syncing videos with her sister, is reportedly the lady love of Dharmesh.

Love blossomed between the duo after they met on the sets of DID and since then, they have made numerous public outings. With love struck poses at the camera and adorable social media posts, the couple have been quite open about their relationship.

However, Dharmesh’s family have objected to his relationship with Breshna as she is a Muslim. Even then, the couple is still going strong and are trying to convince the family about their marriage.

With his amazing dance skills and versatility both as a dancer and an actor, Dharmesh definitely serves as a role model for the youngsters.
