Bollywood weddings have always been a blitzy affair. Be it the star power or the glam quotient, the build up and the hype and most specifically the luxuriant wedding venues and the stunning bridal designer outfits, celebrity weddings are always the talk of the town.

With 2018 nearing its end, it would be safe to say that this year has definitely seen one of the most iconic wedding of the decades. Celebrities are choosing to take the plunge in as extravagant a manner as possible. And while Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s opulent wedding celebrations have just been sending social media into a flurry, we are yet to witness another of those high profile celebrity weddings- the Priyanka Chopra- Nick Jonas wedding over the weekend and of course, the Isha Ambani- Anand Piramal union mid- December.

But while it is the emotions and the bond that has netizens reveling in delight at their favorite couples getting hitched, there’s no denying that celebrity weddings are as much about the shine and shimmer as it is about the love and romance. And when it comes to dreamy wedding outfits replete with wedding motifs and gorgeous elegance, there’s perhaps no one better than ace designer Sabyasachi who makes the much in love people look their best.

Sabyasachi’s outfit has been decking up Bollywood for years now. And it’s no wonder that celebrities turn to this phenomenal talent of a designer to look their best on their wedding day. Here’s a look at the Bollywood brides who were ethereally Sabyasachi on their wedding day-

The much talked about wedding of the year was resplendent in all its Sabyasachi glory. Right from her coy bridal look to her elegant reception appearance, Deepika made heads turn in her every avatar. And the man behind all this glamour was Sabyasachi.

Deepika’s bridal ensemble was a luxurious red lehenga of traditional work and motifs, complete with jardozi that made the blushing bride look every bit of the diva she is.

While at her Bengaluru reception, Deepika made sure her man wasn’t able to keep his eyes off her as she dazzled in Sabyasachi jewelry and styling.

In yet another after wedding party, Deepika went bold as she dressed up in Sabyasachi from head to toe in a dramatic floral lehenga. Needless to say, Deepika was the star attraction even as her man dazzled in a similar heavily embroidered outfit.

This, after the stunningly gorgeous Deepika had won over fans with her glow while being beautiful in yet another Sabyasachi outfit as a pre wedding ritual.

2017’s the year that would be remembered for the dreamy wedding of Bollywood beauty Anushka Sharma and Indian cricketer Virat Kohli. And what made the festivities even more special was their custom made outfits by Sabyasachi.

While Anushka donned the floral look to perfection in a beautiful serene outfit on her wedding day, her colorful mehendi ensemble also stole the show at the celebrations in Italy as they did up a splendid destination wedding.

The graphic lehenga in fuchsia pink and Indian orange with hand printed pop blocks completely brought out the spirit of the mehendi ceremony as Anushka shone bright and radiant in her colorful dress.

While at their reception, Anushka was every bit the elegant lady in a red, bedecked sari by the designer.

I don’t think Indian brides feel complete without wearing the colour red in one of their functions. Anushka decided to wear red on her reception. And much to my absolute delight, it would be a red Benarasi saree. From the by-lanes of Peeli Kothi in Benaras. I was particularly excited about this look because I have seen an entire generation of Bengali women getting married in red Benarasi sarees. The red bindi, the sindoor and the mogras in her hair just made the look more potent and powerful. She chose to wear heritage uncut diamond choker and jhumkas from the Sabyasachi Bridal Jewelry collection. Bollywood can play a major role in spreading awareness about Indian textiles and handlooms. And I must say the occasion couldn’t be better. I know copies of this saree will flood the entire country in the next few months to come, which also means that a million weaver’s children will be back at school. All I can say is thank you Anushka! Virat chose to complement his new bride in a very subtle and elegant manner. He wore a black textured silk signature bandhgala with the house buttons in 18k gold and a white silk kurta with hand-woven brocade churidaar. He teamed it with mojris from the Sabyasachi accessories line and a hand-embroidered antique Pashmina shawl from our ‘Kashmir Revival’ project. @anushkasharma @virat.kohli @bridesofsabyasachi @groomsofsabyasachi @tajdiplomaticenclave For all jewellery related queries, kindly contact [email protected] #Sabyasachi #TheWorldOfSabyasachi #SabyasachiJewelry #AnushkaSharmaViratKohliReception #Virushka #AnushkaSharma #ViratKohli

Royal bride Soha Ali Khan was a sight to behold on her wedding to Kunal Khemu. The Pataudi girl looked drop dead gorgeous in a lovely ivory and gold Sabyasachi lehenga that she partnered with heirloom jewelry, with a dash of color added by a beautifully bright orange dupatta to do up her bridal look.

As the typical Bengali bride, Bollywood fitness freak Bipasha Basu rocked the traditional wedding in ‘Sabyasachi red’. Donning a classic gold and red lehenga as a pretty bride on her wedding day, Bipasha chose to go all funky and chic on her reception in an all gold and off-white Sabyasachi creation.

Amrita @amupuri was going to have a destination wedding. Outdoorsy, with lot of sunshine and fresh flowers. She wanted to wear something fragrant, light yet glamourous. She loved The Udaipur Collection but wanted something special. I had a Persian document that had been fascinating me for quite a while. So we sat down on the drawing board and translated the document into a wedding lehenga panel. Hundred and eleven colours of silk thread in vintage Persian shades were used to create a decorative base and embellished with bugle beads, hand-cut sequins, crystals and pearls. The wedding looked nothing short of a fairy tale and may we say the lehenga looked absolutely gorgeous on her. @bridesofsabyasachi Image Courtesy: @rambalmur #Sabyasachi #TheWorldOfSabyasachi

The craze for Sabyasachi outfits among brides to be to make their wedding affair an even more memorable one isn’t confined only to celebs and the like. As a designer, Sabyasachi has managed to create a niche for himself in the fashion world.
