How very bland would it be to lead a sugar- free life? One can only wonder. Being a diabetic can be one of the toughest realities to live in, with all that boring sprouts and monotonous diets to swear by. And, of course, envying all those out there who have the good fortune of being able to pop anything into their mouths and still roam as healthy and heartily as ever. So while you cannot do away completely with your condition, you might as well seek some solace in the sympathetic listing of your troubles!
NO SWEETS PLEASE!
The heart break of having to refuse your co- worker every time they offer you a sweet, can be seriously depressing. And witnessing hungry revelers gorge on all that enticing stuff is indeed a serious setback to your spirits.
And as if abstaining from all things sweet wasn’t enough, there are also the frequent pricks all over your body to let insulin stream into your blood, that too without any corresponding reward. What a disgrace!
THE BATHROOM FREAK
Diabetes in itself is bad, but what’s worse is the frequent trips that you have to make to the bathroom, especially in unworldly hours, that can be more distressing.
Your diabetic affliction requires you to stuff something up your mouth every couple of hours, so that you become the quintessential dabba carrier. The only plus point-people around are sympathetic enough not to ridicule you. Thank heavens!
ON WORRY LOOP
Perhaps the worst thing about diabetes is that it sets you up for further medical complications relating to almost every part of your body. You turn into the compulsive worrier and even when everyone rolls their eyes at you, all you can do is worry even more.
