It’s time for me to do a Tuesday’s Tip! I watched and photographed this Black-throated Sparrow as it hopped all around on the prickly cactus. Later, while sorting through the series, this one stood out more than the others. What was different about this particular shot than others was that none of the spines of the cactus behind the bird intersected it. Instead, they served as a frame. While photographing, I strive for that “perfect shot” we all want. Sometimes it doesn’t happen. The day before yesterday I wanted a male Northern Cardinal to put his crest up and tail down, but he didn’t perform the task. “Crest-up-tail-down” is a cardinal rule (pun intended!) for me. I never took a shot of him because he didn’t cooperate. Had I photographed him the way he was, he would have only added to my vast collection of what I call teaching slides. I use these photos as examples of shots that could be so much better if only… We are sure getting our fair share of drizzly, dark days in south Texas. Maybe it’s time to do some closeups, one of my favorite things to do! Have a great day… . . . . . #sparrow #tuesdaytip #top_macro #your_best_birds #bbcearth #birds.nature #birds_private #pocket_birds #nuts_about_birds #best_birds_of_world #bestbirdshots #ip_birds #bird_brilliance #raw_birds #birds_adored #planetbirds #birdsandblooms #birdsonearth #birds_illife #sassy_birds #texas #inspire_nature_now #inspire_texas_now #macro_turkey #tv_fauna #ntc_feature #moon_bestanimals #texasthroughherlens #birds_captures #nature_worldwide_birds
