This marks the actress’s fifth such visit to Iraq in her capacity with the UNHCR since 2001 and her first after the city’s liberation from the Islamic state.
A visibly disturbed Jolie terms the devastation as the worst that she has witnessed in all her years with the UN watchdog.
A refugee camp holding 33000 refugees was also part of Jolie’s itinerary, which the star toured on the second day of her visit.
This is the third time the star has visited the Domiz refugee camp in 6 years.
The visit comes in the aftermath of the end of the holy month of Ramadan, which offers some sort of a renewed hope for the strife- torn people.
