Madeira Airport finally got its ‘real’ Cristiano!
Authorities on Friday swapped the existing bust of the Portugal captain installed in the airport premises.

It was only last year when the airport was rechristened with Ronaldo’s name and alongside, his bust was also unveiled.
Worldwide ridicule followed soon after the release of the statue, with public failing to detect any resemblance with the Real Madrid star.

Ironically, calls to put up the original version have surfaced already, which apparently is an ‘attraction for the island’. The bust was initially unveiled on March 2017, shortly after Portugal lifted the Euro 2016 trophy.

Sculptor of the original statue Emanuel Santo had defended his original work even in the face of widespread mockery.
