Google is celebrating the mega launch of the 2018 FIFA World Cup today.
A doodle to this effect has been gracing the homepage of the internet giant on Thursday, the day of the event commencement.
Featuring a soccer field with frenzied people going all out over the much loved sport, the doodle marks the true spirit of the 21st edition of the event.
The Doodle collage is created by Gluekit which highlights the diverse art and elements.
The soccer biggie, this year, is scheduled to take place in Russia from June 14 to July 15.
What’s more interesting is that each day of the marquee event will witness a different doodle being put up on the Google homepage, representing the culture of each of the participating countries, portrayed by an ensemble of guest artists.
The artistic depiction of current events has been a regular feature of Google ever since the first Google Doodle was created in 1998.
Commemorating the Burning Man Festival attended by creators Larry Page and Sergey Brin, the August 20 doodle was meant to remind users that they were absent.
