FIFA World Cup 2018 is already off to a wondrous first half.
And the stage has already been set for soccer world’s most interesting duel.

For, the Ronaldo- Messi face off could not have been any more intriguing.
In Portugal’s 3-3 draw with Spain, rampaging Ronaldo found his way into record books with a hat trick that qualified him as the oldest man to achieve the feat in World Cup finals.

Contrastingly in Argentina’s 1-1 draw with Iceland, Messi failed to convert a crucial penalty chance into a match- winning display of heroics.

And this hit versus miss holds more significance given that this might be the iconic duo’s last World Cup.
While both stars have dazzled in their respective club outings, Messi has time and again failed to impress in his appearances for the national team.

And last week’s Thursday versus Friday rivalry may just have set the tone for what might turn out to be a spectacular month of kicking and scoring.

As of now, apologies to Messi fans for it’s Cristiano who is currently on a roll!
