Todd Phillips’ ambitious project and one of the most anticipated films of the year, Joker has already made a place in the hearts of many fans worldwide. Warner Bros. Pictures has released another 2.44-minute trailer which again left an impeccable mark. The film also introduces Robert de Niro as a comedy king in the trailer.
Unlike the most iconic DC supervillain Jokers that we witnessed in the previous portrayal as only a character, we will see a solo Joker movie. The film will depict the struggle and the existential crisis of Arthur Fleck, who is a failed comedian in the city of Gotham in 70s. The film itself is iconic for its emphasis on the solo development of the character.
Recently, the official Jokermovie Instagram handle posted six short videos followed by a combined post where the time of the release of the second trailer was mentioned- “trailer 8.28.”
Joaquin Phoenix starer Joker will be more of a psychological thriller film where Arthur will go through his traumatic life which becomes madder and disturbingly crazier as the story develops.
The Warner Bros. described Joker as
Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck, who is indelibly portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix, is of a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night… but finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.
Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron and Brian Tyree Henry are to play their distinctive roles in the film alongside Phoenix.
The Venice film festival will premiere Joker this week and it will hit the theatres on 4 October.
