It’s obviously a moment of elevated pride to watch the God of Cricket in action. Even then, it must also be a moment of glory to witness the son of such an illustrious persona in action for the first time ever.
The first time globally, that is. Arjun Tendulkar, the son of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, made his international debut on June 17.

And it wasn’t just the euphoria of witnessing the prodigy in action that have hold the world interest, it’s the manner of the debut that have catapulted the teenager into instant fame.
In an U-19 match for India against Sri Lanka, Arjun claimed his maiden wicket in just his 12th ball of the game. An inswinging length delivery from the 18 year old had Sri Lankan opener Kamil Mishara out for 9.

A left arm pacer and a handy lower order batsman much unlike his run savvy father, Arjun is an all rounder and has impressed domestically with two five wicket hauls and a four wicket haul for Mumbai last season.
Tendulkar Senior’s childhood friend Vinod Kambli was ecstatic after witnessing Arjun’s performance, that obviously was the result of much hard work.
Tears of joy rolled down when I saw this, have seen him grow up and put in the hard work in his game. Could not be more happy for you, Arjun. This is just the beginning, I wish you tons and ton of success in the days to come. Cherish your first wicket and enjoy the moment.? pic.twitter.com/vB3OmbaTWM
