Up and coming film maker from North east India, Vishal P. Chaliha is currently on a roll as his documentary film Sabdhan has made the cut to be the official selection for the Inshort Film Festival 2018 to be held at Lagos, Nigeria.
This is Sabdhan’s 10th international selection overall and the first African premiere of the three minute film that explores the life and struggles of slum children as they fantasise magical dreams only to see them waning away in the harsh clutches of reality.

Sabdhan had also earlier been projected in festivals like the prestigious
Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival, 2017 in Germany as well as at the Cefalu Film Festival, Italy and Newcastle International Film Festival, United Kingdom. However, Sabdhan isn’t the only film for which Chaliha has been garnering praise and international recognition. Another of his short film “The Child” was also selected at the 2nd All Lights India International Film Festival and then at Salem Short Film Festival.

Interestingly, Sabdhan directed by Vishal and with cinematography by three of his friends- Asutosh Kashyap, Sausthav Kishore Gautam and Amitabh Choudhury had also been selected for distribution in China. Come December 27 and Sabdhan will be all set to enthrall global audience when it is screened at the Inshort Film Festival 2018. Heartiest congratulations to the entire team.
