Delhi prepares to race away with 14th Airtel Half Marathon this Sunday

India’s capital city Delhi is bracing itself up as it prepares to host the 14th edition of the prestigious Airtel Delhi Half- Marathon this Sunday.

On October 21st, the latest edition of Delhi’s elite Half marathon that has been listed as a Gold Label Road Race by the IAAF will be up for yet another mind boggling conglomeration of runners and athletes, even as the city struggles to come to terms with its worsening air condition and rising pollution levels.

At the world’s richest half marathon, a host of star runners will be up for the challenge as defending champion Nitendra Singh Rawat prepares to battle it out with half marathon world record holder Kenyan Joyciline Jepkosgei, three time Olympic champion Tirunesh Dibaba,2017 Asian Marathon Championships Gopi Thonakal as well as Kenyans Daniel Kipchumba and Eric Kiptanui.

The annual event is expected to witness the participation of 35,000 runners, who will be aiming to claim the winning prize money of USD $27000 in the event that has been sponsored by telecom major Airtel since 2008.
