Bollywood’s Bhaijaan Salman Khan continues his unabated march to the top with a consecutive third apex spot in the Forbes India Celebrity 100 List.
With collections of ₹253.25 crore earned through his film releases, television appearances and brand endorsements between October 1, 2017, and September 30, 2018 (the period under consideration), Salman managed to assert his supremacy as far as star worth is concerned.
Closely following the 52 year old actor is the Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli with an aggregate income of ₹228.09 crore. With this position, Kohli manages to break over the monopoly of film stars when it comes to amassing massive fortunes in the country.
Akshay Kumar with a net income of ₹185 crore is third on the list, followed By Deepika Padukone with cumulative earnings of ₹112.8 crore that can be attributed largely to the success of her film Padmaavat and her numerous brand endorsements. Interestingly, Padukone is the only Indian woman to claim rank among the coveted top 5 in the list ever since it was initiated in 2012.
Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni with an income of ₹101.77 crore comes fifth on the list that is rounded up by heavyweights Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Sachin Tendulkar and Ajay Devgn.
However, the list also enlisted some major surprises as Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan slipped out of the top 10 to settle at number 13 in the list. Even more surprising is global star Priyanka Chopra who dropped massively from number 7 last year to claim the 49th position among the top 100.
