Shawn Mendes steals the show in 2018 iHeart Radio Much Music Video Awards


Is Shawn Mendes the Marshmallow that has been entertaining you all throughout?

If the 2018 edition of the iHeartRadio-Much-Music-Video-Awards are to be a case of seeing to believing, Shawn as Marshmallow may indeed be a kind of  a revelation!

But not really. For while it was Shawn who set the awards ceremony on fire with his renditions as well as his claims to four of the titles, his gig as Marshmallow drew maximum attention.

So when Marshmello walked on to stage to collect his award for his Anne- Marie collaboration ‘Friends’ without his characteristic stagger and poise, the crowd was skeptical. But when it was Mendes who pulled out from beneath the cover, it was evident that the two musical men had managed to pull off a highly entertaining Sunday night stunt!

The night totally belonged to pop singer Shawn, who at his hometown of Toronto claimed four awards out of eight nominations leaving behind rapper Drake, who managed to convert two of his seven nominations into award collections.


Mendes also opened and closed the iconic awards night with live rendition of “Lost in Japan” and “In My Blood”, driving a capacity audience berserk after he had already won two of the coveted public voted categories fan fave artist and video awards.
