The ‘swadeshi’ answer to popular messaging app WhatsApp, Baba Ramdev’s foray into the world of telecommunication was announced with the launch of Kimbho.
This is Ramdev’s second contribution to digital platform, after the recent launch of the Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards, in tie up with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.
With free voice and video calling catering to both group and private chats, Kimbho offers a doyen of features for unlimited conversations, reinstating its tagline of “Ab Bharat Bolega”.
However, Kimbho went missing on Google Play Store just a day after its launch. But it is still seen on iOS App Store and is also accessible by people who have already downloaded it.
With just around 5k installations and numerous issues and concerns, Ramdev’s plans of Kimbho taking over the hugely popular and functional WhatsApp seems only a distant reality.
