Far away from the maddening crowd and nestled among the swirling waters of the Pacific Ocean is Nauru, an island country in Micronesia, which is a subregion of Oceania. Known as ‘Pleasant Island’ of yore, this little unexplored piece of paradise on earth surely stays true to its name.

The vastness of the Pacific Ocean , which can be strikingly felt at Anibare Bay can make us wonder how small we are in comparison to nature. The long and sandy beach of Nauru with the beautiful coral rocks and the captivating turquoise waters of the ocean is a piece of heaven on earth. If you are a history lover then Nauru can surely impress you. This place is seeped in ancient history . On the top side near the Buada Lagoon, the Central Plateau and Japanese Guns are located. The place of Japanese Guns can give visitors a glimpse of the era when Japanese invaded Nauru as this place is a storehouse of the various kinds of weaponry used by the Japanese warriors  when they conquered Nauru. The Central Plateau gives a glimpse of the ill-effects of land pollution as it provides a look at how overmining can devastate the land and damage natural scenery. In the bygone era, Central Plateau was a place where phosphate mining was done.

Most importantly, it has a series of underground caves which can give you a thrill and awaken your spirit of excitement. These caves are a maze of tunnels, eerie and worth exploring and also to have a wonderful time.

If you are a shopaholic then you can visit the Civic Centre as it  has two supermarkets . You can have a whale of time exploring the diverse items on offer. It is also a great place to get a taste of the local cuisine and get a feel of the local sights and sounds, and is a place for everything local.

Nauru is thus a place of heaven on earth worth exploring. This island nation have a life of its own. Thus it can charm every traveller with its beauty and wealth and beckons him within its folds again and again.
